Default How Does the EXE Contain Our Aff ID?

I was wondering, since I receive the link to the updated .exe via email and it seems that the link is always the same for me (and for others I suppose). How are TheInstalls able to track that it is my .exe that generated the install then, while I even do not login to my account to get the .exe but download it from their FTP server?

I suppose to play it safe... make the trouble to login and download your own copy. Treat the message as a notification of new update, you got nothing to lose and you got nothing to worry about.

Yes, but why do they include the download link in the email then? They should say something like:
"Our exe is updated. Login to your account to get the updated one."
If they don't track installs of updated .exe they send via email to all users, they are cheeting and keep the money for those installs for themselves, isn't it?

I dun use theinstalls but I think this is not a fair comment to make. They did it for your convenience and I know they will not stoop to that level to gain free installs.

I supposed theinstalls_support can answer your question to put your mind at ease.

Yeah, I know. I have nothing against TheInstalls and I like them, but I just want some kind of an explanation from their side.

more conspiracy theories... LOL

why is it an issue for them to make a folder of xx thousand exes? *shrug* its what id do personally, understand that generating exes for every affiliate takes some processing time and disk space, seems to me they have a box dedicated to that process, makes sense...

Im pretty sure the install file sent in emails is YOUR install file? Why would they send you some random exe? Also, isn't the file named similar to your username, I think mine is...

Edit: Never mind, it was actually a reversed version of my site username.
PS: However, the thing that comed to my mind is that it can be useful when building meta installers to download the updated exe directly from the TheInstalls server during installation...

No the name of the file I'm assigned is a scrambled combination of my user ID.
