just a matter of interest, just tried it within VMware 6 running WinXP SP2 - seems to randomly kill the explorer process. Doesn't really matter either why as I stated I was running in a VM because I wanted to avoid any system damage.

What you mean with virtualbox ? As I understand, you can run Windows XP under Linux Ubuntu ? I've never heard anything like this .. The only one solution I've found so far is Vine !

I didn't mean that luxe infected the underlying OS. Just commenting on the effects within VMware.

Vine is for running windows based applications vmware is another thing, just as you use vmware on windows to make a virtual machine where you can install any os you'd like...it's the same thing on linux, you can create a virtual machine on linux and run another os of your choice

Well, yes and no - Vine is more like a plugin/codec I don't need to run it ! While it's staying installed in my Linux, I can run Windows based app's from desktop or anywhere else ! Vmware is a bit different - I need to run it and then - work in it's interface !

Eh, doen't matter - I just wanted to know if there's anything like vmware on Linux
